(Left side) Christine Shevchenko was born in Odessa, Ukraine, at the age of eight, she moved to the United States and trained at Pennsylvania Ballet’s Rock School. Shevchenko was featured in the NBC special Degas and the Dance. In 2003, Shevchenko became the youngest recipient of the Princess Grace Award and many other prominent awards. She joined American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in December 2007 and the corps de ballet in June 2008. She became a Soloist in August 2014.
(Center) Calvin Royal III began his formal dance training at the age 14. Royal joined ABT II (now the ABT Studio Company) in December 2007 where he danced leading roles, and became a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix Scholarship Competition in New York City in April 2006. Calvin joined the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre in September 2006, and also became the recipient of the Ethan Stiefel Scholarship in 2006, he became a winner of a grant in 2014 from the Leonore Annenberg Fellowship Fund. Today, Calvin is a corps de ballet dancer at ABT.
(Right side) Elina Miettinen is from Helsinki, Finland. At the age of nine, Miettinen was accepted into the special training class at the Helsinki Dance Institute, and in 2005, she was given a Pro Dance Scholarship. Elina competed in the Scandinavian Ballet Competition where she won a bronze medal. In the Summer of 2007, Miettinen won the Igor Youskevitch Award at the New York International Ballet Competition. Elina joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in January 2008.
