There’s something effortlessly magnetic about Briana Price—a woman who can light up the screen with a single look and still make you feel like she’d be the most fun person at the dinner party. With a career that spans everything from Tyler Perry’s bold new BET series Divorced Sistas, to Hallmark holiday charm, and even sharing the screen with comedy icons like Joel McHale and Jimmy Tatro in California King—Briana is one to watch, one to root for, and one who’s clearly just getting started.

A trained dancer with an Ivy League brain (yes, Columbia University, no big deal), Briana first caught our eye grooving on Glee, then quickly proved she had more to say—and much more to give. Whether she’s making us laugh, cry, or cheer from our couches, Briana brings raw joy and fearless authenticity to every role.
We caught up with this multifaceted talent just as she was wrapping press for A Stranger In My Home (with the iconic Sophia Bush), to talk big dreams, deeper meanings, and of course, what being in love really means to her.

INLOVE: Your path has been anything but linear—from dancing on Glee to starring in Tyler Perry’s latest. What’s the one wild detour that changed everything for you?
Briana: Well, in college, I had every intention of becoming a doctor. I did a summer program at Cornell Med School after my junior year and spent most of my days in the lab—but I’d count down the minutes until I could be in the dance studio. It became pretty clear that my heart wasn’t in medicine, so I took a hard pivot and fully committed to the arts.

INLOVE: What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about yourself while stepping into the shoes of so many different characters?
Briana: In all of the characters I play, I’ve found a bit of a through line—they’re all grounded and looking to get to what’s real, what’s honest. I’m a firm believer in the symbiotic nature of this work—the defining qualities of each character often reflect a theme or question that’s circling in my own life.

INLOVE: In Divorced Sistas, you dive into messy, modern love and sisterhood—what did that project awaken in you personally?
Briana: Divorced Sistas reminded me of the power of sisterhood and community. I’ve formed such strong bonds with my co-stars, and it illuminated the impact we can create when we lead with unity and togetherness. It deepened my understanding of community support and how much stronger we are when we work together.
It also forced me to be introspective about my relationship with self-worth and self-love. Tiffany encouraged me to examine whether I was giving myself the focused attention I often seek from friends, family, or my partner. Ultimately, this project helped me return to a tender space within myself. I have so much compassion for Tiffany—I understand the strength it takes to move from heartbreak to hope.

INLOVE: You’ve worked with some major names—Joel McHale, Jimmy Tatro, Sophia Bush. Who surprised you the most and why?
Briana: Fun fact: I actually went to high school with Sophia Bush. Go Tigers!
Sophia, whether she knows it or not, inadvertently taught me to take up space unapologetically. As a woman—especially a Black woman—taking up space can sometimes feel risky or dangerous. But witnessing her process revealed the power of being fully yourself. In doing so, you never know who you’re inspiring.
INLOVE: If your life had a title right now, what would it be—and what genre would it fall under?
Briana: Right now, my life feels like a fairytale! I’ve literally dreamed of this moment my whole life.
So, I guess the name of my movie would be Charmed (yes, I know that title already exists—lol).
INLOVE: You studied at Columbia and also trained as a dancer—how do you balance the brain and the body in your creative life?
Briana: Movement is a daily part of my life—whether it’s yoga, walking, running, or dance, I find a way to keep my body active. It helps clear out brain chatter and noise, and it keeps me feeling like myself. I love feeling strong, flexible, and alive—movement helps me do just that.
Confession: I’m pretty nerdy. I love science and problem-solving, so I keep my brain engaged by reading novels, articles, scientific journals, etc. My favorite author is Haruki Murakami.

INLOVE: Between set life, travel, and downtime, what’s your secret recipe for staying grounded and joyful?
Briana: I have a very consistent meditation practice, and I try to journal as much as possible. The easiest way for me to stay grounded is to make sure I can hear and feel my intuition—and let that lead me. I also still dance quite a bit, and I adore my family and friends. Spending time with them always brings me so much joy.
INLOVE: What’s a dream role or collaboration that you’re manifesting next—and how do you want it to stretch you?
Briana: How much time do you have? Lol.
I’d love to work with Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal (can you tell I saw Othello on Broadway recently?), Ryan Coogler, Spike Lee, Angela Bassett, Viola Davis…the list goes on.
I’m always looking to get closer and closer to embodying the reality of the human experience in my work. All of these artists have this uncanny ability to pierce through the screen and resonate with something cellular.
INLOVE: What’s one thing fans would never guess about you from watching your work on screen?
Briana: I am obsessed with pop music. Imagine the music taste of a 13-year-old in 2001—that’s my general vibe.
INLOVE: And our favorite question to ask at INLOVE: What does being in love mean to you?
Briana: To be in love means to be fully present, fully open, and fully receptive.
Briana Price is more than a rising star—she’s a force in motion. With every step she takes, on-screen or off, she radiates clarity, curiosity, and a kind of courage that feels both grounded and electric. Whether she’s dancing through life’s detours or speaking her truth through layered characters, Briana invites us all to show up a little bolder, love a little deeper, and stay open to the magic in the mess. One thing’s certain: wherever her story goes next, we’ll be watching—and cheering—with hearts wide open.
