This Rhyan Hill Interview explores the actor and dancer’s transformation into Tito Jackson in Michael, Antoine Fuqua’s cinematic portrait of Michael Jackson and the legendary Jackson family.

In this Rhyan Hill Interview, he reflects on how dance became the foundation for his approach to acting and storytelling.
Some performers command attention the moment they walk into a room. Others earn it through years of relentless work, quiet discipline, and an unwavering commitment to their craft. Rhyan Hill belongs to the latter, and perhaps the rarest category.
Long before Hollywood came calling, Hill was already telling stories through movement. Dance became his first language, one that carried him from world stages alongside some of music’s biggest names to one of the most anticipated films of the decade. Every performance, every rehearsal, every opportunity became another chapter in a journey built not on shortcuts, but on preparation.
In Michael, the cinematic portrait of Michael Jackson directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Academy Award-winning producer Graham King, Hill takes on the role of Tito Jackson, a member of one of the most influential families in music history. It is a performance that required more than studying choreography or mastering period details. It demanded respect for legacy, emotional truth, and an understanding that behind every global icon is a family whose story shaped the music that changed the world.
Yet beyond the cameras and choreography, Rhyan Hill remains remarkably grounded. His career reflects the balance between ambition and humility, confidence and curiosity. Whether performing before millions or preparing quietly behind the scenes, he approaches every role with the mindset of an artist who understands that excellence is never accidental.
For our Fall 2026 Men’s Cover Issue, INLOVE Magazine is honored to feature an actor and performer whose journey reminds us that talent may open doors, but character is what leaves a lasting impression.

Rhyan Hill Interview: Playing Tito Jackson in Michael
INLOVE: Michael brings one of the most iconic musical families in history to the big screen. What was your first reaction when you learned you would portray Tito Jackson?
Rhyan Hill: There were so many emotions I went through when I found out I would be portraying Tito. Antoine Fuqua and Graham King told me in person that I had gotten the role, and that moment still stays with me. I was excited, nervous, and incredibly happy, but above all, I felt grateful to be part of this journey.
INLOVE: Preparing to play a real person carries a unique responsibility. How did you approach understanding Tito Jackson beyond the public image?
Rhyan Hill: I immersed myself in researching Tito and the Jackson family. I watched interviews and performances, read articles, studied photographs, and consumed anything I could get my hands on. I wanted to understand his personality, his presence, and the qualities that made him who he was. My goal was to portray him authentically, and I hope I did him justice.
INLOVE: Music, movement, and family are at the heart of Michael. What part of the story resonated with you most on a personal level?
Rhyan Hill: There were many parts of the story that resonated with me. One of the biggest was the Jackson family’s love for performing and music. I discovered my passion for the arts when I was five years old, and it gave me a feeling unlike anything else. From that moment on, I knew performing was what I wanted to do.

Another aspect that connected with me was the importance of family. The Jacksons were a close-knit family who were always there for one another. I come from a family that’s very similar, and I know I can always turn to them for love, support, and guidance. That shared sense of family made their story feel deeply personal.
INLOVE: You’ve built an impressive career as both a dancer and an actor. How has your background in dance influenced the way you approach dramatic storytelling?
Rhyan Hill: My background in dance has helped me tremendously. As dancers, we use movement to help the audience connect with what we’re feeling. Dance has also allowed me to take more risks as an actor by helping me physicalize a character and make stronger creative choices.
INLOVE: Working on a film of this scale means collaborating with an extraordinary cast and creative team. What was one unforgettable moment from the set that will stay with you?
Rhyan Hill: Every moment on set was unforgettable, but the one that stands out the most was our very first day of filming. The first scene we shot was from the Victory Tour, specifically the moment when the Jacksons come down the stairs. Being in costume, hearing the background actors screaming, and having the music playing made it feel like we truly were the Jacksons.
INLOVE: The Jackson family’s influence spans generations. What do you hope audiences discover, or perhaps rediscover, after watching Michael?
Rhyan Hill: I hope audiences learn more about Michael as a person when he wasn’t on stage. Being able to see those intimate moments is something many people have never experienced before. I also hope viewers recognize the incredible impact the Jackson family had and how their legacy continues to shape music and entertainment today.
INLOVE: Every role teaches an actor something new. What did portraying Tito Jackson reveal about yourself as both an artist and an individual?
Rhyan Hill: As an artist, portraying Tito challenged me to dig deeper into the person I was bringing to life. Since Tito is such a well-known figure, I wanted to make sure I did the proper research. Because he was also a master guitarist, I had to learn how to play and practice constantly to make sure I could perform the music convincingly.
As an individual, the experience reinforced the importance of family and having a strong support system. Watching Tito’s relationship with his family reminded me to be there for the people in my own life and to appreciate the importance of staying grounded.
INLOVE: Success often looks glamorous from the outside, but every career includes moments of uncertainty. What has kept you grounded throughout your journey?
Rhyan Hill: My family and friends have always kept me grounded. Having people I can turn to for guidance, while also simply enjoying their company, is incredibly important. This industry can be challenging, so it’s essential to step away from it sometimes and not let it consume you.
INLOVE: Looking back at the young performer who first dreamed of this career, what would you tell him today?
Rhyan Hill: I would tell my younger self to be patient. Since I started in the industry at a young age, I have faced a lot of rejection. There will be difficult moments, but I would tell him to trust the process, know that the right opportunities are coming, and believe that his path is leading him exactly where he is meant to be.
INLOVE: As this exciting new chapter begins, what stories, roles, or creative challenges are calling your name next?
Rhyan Hill: I want to continue stretching my range as an actor and building on my craft. I love comedy and would love to explore that genre even more. Beyond acting, I’m also a writer and producer, and I hope to follow in the footsteps of creators like Quinta Brunson, Tina Fey, and Rob McElhenney by creating, showrunning, and starring in my own series.
I’d also love to be part of a movie musical where I can combine my passions for acting, dancing, and singing in one project.
On the choreography side, I hope to choreograph for award shows, music festivals, and music videos.

INLOVE: Our signature question: What does it mean to you to be in love?
Rhyan Hill: To me, being in love means having a deep appreciation and passion for something. It’s finding joy in what you do and building a meaningful connection with it. When you have that, it inspires you to give your time, energy, and heart to what truly matters.
Every generation discovers artists who redefine what it means to perform with heart, authenticity, and purpose. Rhyan Hill represents that new generation—one that honors the past while confidently shaping the future.
His journey reminds us that extraordinary careers are rarely built overnight. They are created through years of dedication, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the power of storytelling.
