Spencer Stevenson is no stranger to the spotlight, and with his latest role in The Z-Suite, he’s about to prove why he’s one of Hollywood’s rising stars to watch. Effortlessly blending charm, humor, and an unmistakable sense of style, Spencer takes on the role of Elliot—a social media whiz with an attitude as bold as his six-inch heels. In Tubi’s upcoming original workplace comedy, premiering February 6, Spencer stars alongside Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood) in a hilariously chaotic office takeover where Gen Z employees flip the corporate world upside down.
But The Z-Suite is just the latest in Spencer’s growing list of must-watch projects. From his scene-stealing turn in Hulu’s Rosaline, a fresh and witty retelling of Romeo and Juliet, to standout performances in The Purge, Mindhunter, and indie gems like Never Goin’ Back, Spencer brings depth and originality to every role.
Beyond the screen, Spencer is a fearless fashion enthusiast, a dedicated dog dad, and a lover of bold storytelling. In this exclusive conversation, we dive into his latest projects, his passion for pushing creative boundaries, and the moments that have defined his journey so far.
INLOVE: The Z-Suite takes a hilarious look at the workplace through a Gen Z lens. What drew you to the role of Elliot, and how did you bring him to life?
Spencer: Reading for Elliot was so exciting! He represents people I know, people in my friend group, and even myself. I got to really go with my instinct and do whatever felt natural to me. Katie O’Brien really gave me creative freedom with him and trusted me.
INLOVE: Your character in The Z-Suite is all about confidence and self-expression—especially when it comes to fashion. How much of Elliot’s bold style reflects your own?
Spencer: Oh, we couldn’t be more different. Elliot is so bold, loud, and creative with his sense of style. Spencer, on the other hand, is so boring—LOL. I’m a sweats-and-hoodie type of guy. Comfy and convenient is my go-to.
INLOVE: The show marks Tubi’s first live-action original series. What was it like being part of such a milestone project?
Spencer: It’s been AMAZING. The Tubi team is phenomenal. They’re just so cool and relaxed. A lot of the execs were on set in Toronto a few times, so I’ve gotten to actually know them on a personal level. I’m so happy I get to work with them. They’re so great!
INLOVE: Working alongside icons like Lauren Graham must have been a dream. Do you have any memorable moments from the set?
Spencer: Lauren and I didn’t have a ton of scenes together because of the plot of the show, but the few times we were, I loved it. She’s so chill and literally a normal person, which is so sick. She’s such a boss and was a reassuring force. There were times when she’d give advice or share her experiences… It’s still insane that I’m even in the same sentence as her. That’s my Queen!
INLOVE: Rosaline gave audiences a modern, comedic take on Romeo and Juliet. What was it like playing Paris in such a fresh adaptation of a classic story?
Spencer: Ohhhhh, playing Paris was epic. 20th Century and Hulu shot the film in Italy for three months, and I was gagged. That was my first time ever leaving the U.S. (had a dramatic moment getting my passport… iykyk), but the experience was so much fun. My director, Karen Maine, and my lovely cast were phenomenal. I’m still friends with them to this day. Isabela Merced is one of my besties, and I can’t imagine not knowing her. Dream job for sure.
INLOVE: You’ve taken on roles in everything from comedy to psychological thrillers like Mindhunter and The Purge. What’s been the most exciting challenge in your career so far?
Spencer: Hmmm… I’d say every job is challenging in its own way. But I always walk away after a project wraps having learned new things about myself, which is super exciting.
INLOVE: You’re known for your fearless approach to fashion. What influences your personal style, and are there any dream collaborations or brands you’d love to work with?
Spencer: Ooooohhhhh, I’m slowly trying to get into the fashion world. Baby steps. But if we’re talking dream collabs—Dior and Prada. But #1 on the list is Schiaparelli. I don’t believe they do menswear, but if and when they do, that’s the one for me. Sickening.
INLOVE: Outside of acting, you have a passion for wine, fitness, and self-care! How do you balance the industry’s fast pace with personal time?
Spencer: To be completely honest, I sleep a lottttttt. Not sure what changed for me in the past three years, but I’m obsessed with disconnecting from everyone and everything and taking my ass to sleep. Don’t get me wrong—I LOVE a good time, but sleep is my girl.
INLOVE: Social media plays a huge role in today’s entertainment world. How do you navigate staying authentic while also engaging with fans online?
Spencer: I’m pretty authentic online. I post the real me in real time. I think being myself online is the best path for me. I post what I want on my platforms. It’s mine, ya know? So one day you might get a day on set, and the next day you might get my friends having a time in West Hollywood.
INLOVE: Looking ahead, what kind of roles or projects are on your bucket list? Any dream collaborations in film, TV, or even fashion?
Spencer: Marvel. Marvel, Marvel. I want to exist somewhere in the mutant universe. X-Men reboot—I’m looking at you, babe. I don’t care who I am, but give me some mutant abilities, and I’m happy.
INLOVE: Bonus: INLOVE always asks—what are five things you’re currently in love with?
Spencer: My self-care. My time. My peace. My friends/family. And my team that’s gotten me to this moment. I’ve curated the best team in the world that truly knows me deep down. They work so hard, and I’m obsessed with them. Love them.
Spencer Stevenson isn’t just making waves in Hollywood—he’s rewriting the rules with every step (often in a killer pair of heels). With The Z-Suite set to bring his comedic talents to an even wider audience, and his fearless approach to style and storytelling, Spencer continues to prove he’s more than just a rising star—he’s a force to be reckoned with. From heartfelt performances to unapologetic self-expression, his journey is only just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where it takes him next.
