INLOVE: What inspired you both to pursue dentistry—and what was the moment you knew this would be your life’s path?
Dr. Anora:
Growing up, I always had a passion for the arts; I was fortunate enough to travel extensively while participating in Latin and ballroom dance competitions. As I got older, I remember my first job working for an internist. Through that experience, I discovered my deep desire to help people. When I combined that with my love of artistry, dentistry became the perfect path. You get to be a clinician while also creating beauty, symmetry, and function in someone’s oral health.
Dr. Arkady:
Being exposed to my father, who is also a dentist, gave me an early foundation of hard work and dedication. Visiting his practice frequently had a lasting impact on me. When I got to college, I knew I was interested in medicine, and after researching various fields, I realized that dentistry was the perfect blend of everything I loved. It allows me to improve a patient’s oral health while incorporating planning, design, and creativity. Looking back, I’m proud that I chose a profession that embodies all of these attributes and allows me to guide patients to healthier, happier lives.

INLOVE: As a husband-and-wife team, how has building Smyle Haus together shaped your relationship and your vision for patient care?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
Some days, it doesn’t even feel real. Sharing this journey with a partner who knows you better than you know yourself is truly special. Working together daily has taught us even more about each other. More importantly, our vision for patient care is perfectly aligned—it centers on the patient experience while staying true to ourselves as clinicians and delivering the highest quality care possible.
INLOVE: What is your favorite part of dentistry—the thing that still lights you up every day?
Dr. Anora:
There are two things that light me up every day. The first is the gratitude from a patient when I help them get out of pain. The second is when I complete a smile makeover and the patient sees their final veneers or crowns for the first time—their face lights up, their whole demeanor changes. It’s truly beautiful to witness how a new smile can completely transform a person’s self-esteem.
Dr. Arkady:
My favorite part is guiding a patient through their oral health journey at their own pace. Presenting a comprehensive plan and completing it together is a humbling and rewarding experience. The patient becomes even more inspired as they witness the progress. It’s powerful to see how impactful proper dental care can be.

INLOVE: Can you share a moment with a patient that truly moved you—one that reminded you why you chose this profession?
Dr. Anora:
One recent experience stays with me. A young woman in her early 20s came in with four recently done veneers. Though her natural teeth were healthy and beautiful, she was incredibly disappointed in the results and broke down in tears, saying, “This isn’t what I wanted—I wish I could take it back.” Her mother was by her side, and the emotional weight in the room hit me deeply, especially as a mother to a young daughter myself. I imagined my own child in her shoes. I listened carefully to her concerns and made sure we got it right—and we did.
Dr. Arkady:
Early in my career, a patient came to me after being turned away by several dentists. She needed a properly fitted upper denture and just wanted to smile and eat again. A periodontist colleague and I created a custom treatment plan for her. When we delivered the final denture, she burst into tears of joy. It was a deeply emotional moment. That experience reminded me how powerful dentistry can be and how crucial it is to listen to our patients. Her sincere gratitude and happiness still bring a smile to my face whenever I think about it.

INLOVE: What makes the experience at Smyle Haus feel so different from a typical dental office visit?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
Well, maybe we’re biased, but our space is unlike any other—high ceilings, exposed brick, and an inviting aesthetic that doesn’t feel clinical. But what truly makes Smyle Haus different is the team. We’ve cultivated an atmosphere of warmth, laughter, and camaraderie that naturally extends to our patient care. The energy here is uplifting, and it shows.
INLOVE: You’ve made comfort, warmth, and flexibility cornerstones of your practice. Why was that so important to you both?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
We wanted to create an environment where everyone—our team and our patients—feels at home. We never want anyone to feel like they’re walking into a sterile medical setting. Smyle Haus is vibrant, full of laughter, and built around genuine human connection. We want patients to chat with the team, share stories, and feel like family.
INLOVE: Many people feel anxious about going to the dentist. How do you approach that emotional aspect of care and help patients feel truly safe?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
Our entire team is focused on making patients feel welcomed, relaxed, and never rushed. We take time to educate each patient on their treatment plan so they understand what’s happening and why. By providing that clarity, we build trust. We know dentistry can be emotionally overwhelming, so we’ve created a stress-free, compassionate environment that helps ease those fears from the moment you walk through our doors.
INLOVE: How do you stay creatively and professionally inspired while running a growing dental practice and raising a family?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
We’ve learned to set clear boundaries between work and home life. That balance is essential to staying energized and focused. We also continue to attend conferences and take advanced education courses. Staying updated on the latest techniques and technologies keeps us inspired and excited to bring new solutions to our patients.
INLOVE: What does a “beautiful smile” mean to you beyond aesthetics?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
A beautiful smile is about self-expression and confidence. Beauty is subjective—what one person finds beautiful might not be the same for someone else. So, we always begin by asking our patients what they envision. From there, we combine their goals with our expertise to create a personalized, harmonious smile that reflects who they are.
INLOVE: What legacy do you hope Smyle Haus will leave in the Red Bank community?
Dr. Anora & Dr. Arkady:
We hope that whenever someone in Red Bank or the surrounding areas thinks of dentistry, they think of Smyle Haus. We want to be known as the warm, welcoming office with doors always open to those seeking exceptional care—where patients feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for.
“For us, dentistry is more than a profession—it’s a way to restore confidence, create connection, and care for people with heart.”
